+ Quick update; my prom dress is pretty :)

+ I am going to tell a real life happening story and I have decided to tell this story because well, the only stories the papers think are worth tellling are the "society going to the dogs" stories. And I think it's about time we had a new angle. I was in a restaurant last night, when a girl about 18/19, excusing herself repeatedly interrupts the couple next to us to ask the lady if she has lost a ring. The young girl had found one in the restaurant bathroom and had seen the lady leave just before, she had handed it to the staff but was so concerned for the person who had lost it, she wanted to check with the lady herself. In the end it wasn't that woman's ring and the girl apologised again for interrupting their meal, the couple wouldn't hear of it and thanked the girl for being so considerate <3

+ Basically the point of this story is that; I LOVE people, I think they are wonderful and kind and good and thousands of headlines to the contarary will never convince me otherwise. And the moral; have FAITH in each other, the world is good.

+ Speaking of wonderful people, taday is [livejournal.com profile] someonescomet 's birthday. So, Happy Birthday! You haven't been on my flist long but you have already firmly established yourself as one sweetest people on lj. I know you've been having a difficult time of it lately but enjoy you're day, relax, eat lots of cake, sing and dance and take some time for yourself, you deserve it sweetie :)

+ I watched Marley & Me yesterday and with twenty or so mintues to go I realised I was going to cry over a dog movie. Then I figured it was OK to since it was one of the best films I've seen in a while; funny, pretty to look at and with some really touching moments, it didn't shy away from how hard life can get and was by the end quite life affirming. If you haven't seen it yet, do, you won't regret it.

+ Because a few of you asked me to keep you updated I have decided to attend the Univeristy of Dundee next year. I rhink it will be good for me to leave home and strike out on my own, thankyou all so much for your help and advice, your stories were reassuring and made me a great deal less scared. :)

+ I've been a bit M.IA recently, due in the most part to school, just finishing off coursework and the like, but it's the Easter holidays now. Two weeks off, and end of lent on Sunday! I have missed chocolate sooo bad.

+ Basically I've been attempting to decide where to go to University next year. I'll be studying History and it's between two Universitys, The University of Dundee and the University of Liverpool. They're both really good academically and student satisfaction wise, but Dundee is four hours away and Liverpool is home. So my decision is purely based on whether I want to go away or not. Any help, opinions or expereince of uni life is much appreciated. :)

+ This song just reminds me of summer. And Dawson's Creek, but that reminds me of summer too. I'm very nostalgic today :)

Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated
I'll hang from your lips

+ Mother's Day MIxtape was a huge success, so thankyou for all your help.

+ It's been sunny the past few days. Like middle of summer sunny, everything was beautiful, everyone was happy. Today it's cold, the skies are grey and it has rained of and off, misty, can't keep dry, soaks through your skin rain. Everything is not as beautiful, everyone is not as happy.

+ No matter how much work I do, my to do list just seems to get longer and longer. Teachers are throwing it at me faster than I can complete it. I suppose this is just the usual end of year 13, gearing up for exams work, but it's seeming never ending load is starting to get me down.

+ SPN. I thought you were done ripping my heart out? No? Sorry, my mistake. Also, promo for next week. I, just. BOWS DOWN TO KRIPKE.

+ I had more to tell, but I can't remeber now. Have a fic rec instead;

+ Firstly, and most importantly fandom news. Potter; (source Mugglenet)

Warner Brothers today announced a slew of release dates for their upcoming films - one of which was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, now set for July 15th, 2011.

As we learned a while ago, Deathly Hallows - Part 1 is set for November 19th, 2010. WB had originally set Part 2 for May 2011, but pushed the date back two months to the prime July slot.

+ On a happier note the people at Potter released a Half Blood Prince teaser, full of squee worthy Ron moments :D

+ Season Five people! Kripke can finish his five year plan, the twisted genius.

+ RL has been crazy busy and will be for about the next two weeks. I have coursework deadlines looming and the exams are coming closer so I'm really concentrating on my schoolwork. Hence the lack of updates and sparodic comments, I am sorry and I will try and catch up when I have more time. I hope you are all doing well and that you have a great weekend ♥

harbour: (jenthoughtful)

+ I was creative today! I made cupcakes and a card for my friends 18th birthday. I am very proud of myself.

+ I also finally got around to watching "P.S I Love You". It wasn't as good as the book but that's sort of expected and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, it was funny and sweet and obviously heartbreakingly sad at times. On the plus, JDM was being his gorgeous usual self, with the added bonus of an Irish accent. :)

+ I did that "25 Things" meme/quiz on Facebook and I thought it would be good to put it on here. So, for you perusal here are 25 posssibly interesting facts about me.

I'm not entirely sure what to say here, because I hardly know how I feel. If numbness is a state then I'm pretty sure I'm there. This is just too strange and too sad and my condolences go out to his friends and family.

Although those in the Supernatural fandom never knew Kim Manners his contribution to Supernatural and the heart he brought to the show means that his death has affected us all. Many of my flist have expressed a wish to do something to honour this and his memory,[info]pocketfullof is collecting donations in Kim Manners memory for the American Lung Association here if you would like to give, she is also open to other suggestions.

I don't want this to be an issue, I am not attempting to cajole anyone into participating, this is just the way I would like to give a kind of thanks to Kim Manners.

+ I have not updated in a shamefully long time. I have no excuse, forgive me?

+ Today is a day of beautiful boys. First James McAvoy was on the telly being gorgeous and funny and self-effacing and basically all around perfection and tonight "10 Things I Hate About You" is on with Heath Ledger and I will not cry it is fairly obvious I am going to sob.

+ There is an article that lists the 10 reasons you should watch Supernatural over at TVsquad.com. I LOVE this part the mostest;

9. The epic love story of Sam and Dean
Go ahead, giggle. I'll wait. In an early season two interview, writer Sera Gamble, now one of the show's producers, jokingly said the show was really just the epic love story of two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester. Supernatural's real hook is that under the guise of a horror show, there is a tale of family dysfunction so deep it would rival anything daytime soaps had to offer. Wedged in between the monsters of the week, Sam and Dean struggle to keep their family of two afloat in the midst of epic turmoil and an impending demon war. Theirs is a twisted love story of filial loyalty stretched to the brim, always in danger of snapping. It's this constant struggle to stick with the ones you love, even when it means sacrificing your own happiness, that is the emotional heart of the show.

This for me is numero uno. It's all about the Winchesters as far as I'm concerned and their EPIC LOVE STORY PEOPLE :)

+ [livejournal.com profile] emgrace4 interviewed me, the answers are just a click away.

+ Happy New Year! To all my flist, I hope that 2009 will be wonderful all round.

+ The BBC will announce the eleventh Doctor tomorrow. I am BEYOND nervous. It's ridiculously stupid. And I will miss Ten sooo bad.

+ I never normally make resolutions, because, well I never stick to them. But this year I actually put some thought into what I want to achieve and so I am cautiously making five 2009 resolutions, which I am determined to follow through on.

RESOLUTIONS;

1) To get FIT, not thin, FIT. I also got gym membership for my Christmas present from my parents, so not to use it would not just be unhealthy and wasteful, it would be RUDE. (I hate being rude, I'm hoping this will be some sort of weird incentive)

2) To do well on my A-Levels. Basically, work my arse of for the next five months and fulfil my potential.

3) Be more patient.

4) Be more understanding/tolerant of everyone. Especially my family, who I am shamefully less understanding of becuase I have the crap back up, that even if I act like shit they have to love me. Not fair and not attractive. Needs to change.

5) Be braver. I'm not sure if that's a word, but I don't care.

+ And well, if it all goes to pot, at least I tried. As Will Shakespeare once said, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained".

1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this everyday for eight days without fail.
3. Tag eight of your friends to do the same.

Day Six;

+ My friends are gorgeous, wonderful people who are far too kind when it comes to birthday presents.

+ Watched Penelope and wrapped Christamas presents.

+ I made fairy cakes for tomorrows mega family birthday get together =D

+ Today was a very good day. It has been a very good week. So I'm going mad today : )

Day Four;

+ I LOVE this time of year.

+ It's MY BIRTHDAY tomorrow. I WILL BE EIGHTEEN.

+ Heather bought me "Penelope" for Christmas. And Maltesers. JAMES MCAVOY. AND MALTERSERS. I'm not sure you need much else in life.

+ It's Christmas in ONE WEEK PEOPLE.

+ Due to the above I have down loaded sixty Christmas songs. I cleaned my rom tonight while DANCING AROUND MADLY TO THEM.

+ This had become a fully fledged Padalecki meme. Blame [livejournal.com profile] keepaofthecheez and[info]bridget_x_alena. And Jared Padalecki.

Because we all need more Jared Padalecki in our lives. WHY is he always on the floor? I don't care, I loves him.

Look at his SMILE and his thumbs! He's giving you the thumbs-up! Oh, Jared : ) Can I have him for Christmas? Please??

1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this everyday for eight days without fail.
3. Tag eight of your friends to do the same.

Day Three;

+ Apart from Jared?! I went shopping today after school and met up with mum before hitting up the shops. We mostly just browsed, but we did get my birthday party outfit! : ) It's very pretty and sort of grown up (for me at least) but as mom pointed out, it is for my 18TH BIRTHDAY PARTY *squee*, so it should be grown up.

+ THE PANTO last night was AWESOME. I seriously love panto, it's such a weird Britsh tradition and utterly strange and freaky if you try to analyse it, but it's always such good fun and really marks the start of my Christmas.

+ Also, my team won the Christamas History Quiz. Again. Fourth year on the run. Catherine and I are the Christmas History Quiz Masters. We were rewarded with Mars Bars. J'ADORE quizzes.

harbour: (tistheseason)
+ PANTO TIME! A group of us from school are going the Everyman Theatre tonight to see their annual festive fun filled Christams Pantomime. This year they're doing "Mother Goose". I CANNOT wait : )

+ You should all run over, and I mean run, to [livejournal.com profile] such_heights journal like RIGHT NOW and read the most gorgeous Merlin/Arthur coda 1x13 FIC. It's so wonderful and perfect and Merlin, he's exactly how I imagined he would be returning to Camelot, all heady with the extent of his powers, just thrumming with magic, *squee*. Go tell her how awesome she is, you know you want to : )

1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this everyday for eight days without fail.
3.Tag eight of your friends to do the same.

DAY TWO;

+ I have done this exactly twice and both times have linked somewehere else. Is there a pattern emerging? I don't care, THIS was too funny and adorable not to post. Dan's such a babe, such a tiny-put-him-in-my-pocket-and-take-him-home-for-Christmas-babe.

harbour: (heart)

+ RL is intense and mad at the moment so I'm unlikely to post or read anything until Friday. I will try and catch up though.

+ Because she is gorgeous and awesome I have picspammed Sophia Bush for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy challenge05. Now, be warned this is my first picspam so comments and hints are not just helpful they are love.

+ MERLIN. I am pimping [livejournal.com profile] merlinxarthur because THEY LOVE EACH OTHER. And time is on their side.

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)

Don't you just love sorting out your userpics?

Getting rid of any you've had for too long and replacing them with brand spanking new pretty ones!

I have been in a "lets turn everything upside down, sort it out, throw it out, put it away in a different place, clear out the clutter so that I can breathe" mood for a while now and changing my userpics was the last thing on my list.

I think it's because I'm school is starting to get really stressful and I will soon be in the midst of so much work and Christmas is coming up and me and a girl I have been friends with since I was 12 are in a weird place which is upsetting to say the least and before I can think about any of that and set my mind to dealing with it I needed to physically clear my space. *longsigh*

I feel lighter. Which is good, and now all I need are posts to comment on so i can show my gorgeous userpics off. :)

Lewis Hamilton just became the youngest ever Formula 1 World Champion.

I don't even like motor racing, I don't know anyone who does, but in the last 30 seconds of that race I was screaming at the T.V, urging him on.

In other news I am desperately writing my Five Year Plans essay for Russian History tomorrow and it is not going well, but then Russian History never goes well. I will try and write another paragraph tonight and then just do my conclusion or I won't get any sleep.

To all those attempting Nano, I feel for you, especially those doing it while doing school, if I can help at all just give me a shout.

Yay! I am still in shock, seriously I did not expect this. I'm just so over the moon, hence the rambling!

Tonight we're having a bit of a celebration dinner and we have chocolate and a film. The parents are really proud and that makes me really happy. I will probably post something more in-depth and coherent once i've gotten used to the idea, but for now i'm just all over the place.

What Holly Means
You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.
